The Other Side of Difficult Things

Writing books is challenging. Jacob is constantly reminding me that it’s one of the most cognitively difficult things a person can do.

I remember sharing a picture similar to this one a little over a year ago where I shared about how God sometimes calls us to do difficult things. At the time, the difficult thing I felt called to was to write my bounty hunter book.

I knew this novel would challenge me and push me. I really wanted to write a light-hearted small town romance, but God nudged me to something a little more tricky.

Now that I’m on the other side of this novel, working on my edits, I am so amazed. This book scared me. I fought against the call to write it. But month after month, I kept pushing through the difficult, and now I have something I believe holds value. I don’t mean that to sound proud or anything. Truly, the credit belongs only to the Lord.

I am looking forward to seeing what God does with this story someday.
