December Goals

Luke 2:14

“Glory to God in the highest,

And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Luke 2:14

I cannot believe it’s already December 8th! There is so much going on during this month for millions of people. Christmas shopping, church events, visiting with family. It can be a little overwhelming to say the least. Now that Abigail is here, it’s even more busy. So here are a few goals I want to keep in mind as the month continues on.

REMEMBER JESUS

Put Him first, as should be the norm, but my goal is to pray more, and to take time to be quiet and listen.

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" (Psalm 46:10).

LOVE OTHERS

Like really love them.

How many of us have felt lonely during this season? I’m betting we have all had at least one year where we’ve felt that way. I want to be proactive in this area. Whether it be visiting attendants at the convalescent home, or simply setting aside my phone to pay attention to my spouse, parent, or child.

Notice others' needs and do something by prayer or action.

"And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins." (1 Peter 4:8).

DATE MY HUSBAND

This is on my list because having a new baby makes it challenging for us to spend time together. There are one hundred things to do, but those one hundred things will be there tomorrow as well.

Spend time at home by the fire. Cook a special meal together. Play a board game. Read the Bible together. ENJOY the time.

“Your love delights me, my treasure, my bride. Your love is better than wine, your perfume more fragrant than spices” ‭‭(Song of Solomon 4:10 NLT).

ENJOY ABIGAIL

This is very important to me. Next year,Abigail will be an entire year older. She will never be this little again, and I want to enjoy every little single moment with her during her first Christmas season. She is the best little Christmas present my husband and I could ever receive.

"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him" (Psalm 127: 3).

This is such a fun time of the year, and it's my hope, that if I keep these goals in mind, Jesus can be glorified above all.
